World Book Day This week the children have been taking part in activities focused around World Book Day. The children had the opportunity to come dressed up as their favourite book character and spend time in other classrooms completing activities based on various stories such as The Hungry Caterpillar, Alice in Wonderland and The Rainbow Fish. In the afternoon, we met with the rest of the school to share our experiences. All the children looked wonderful in their costumes so thank you very much to parents and carers!
Spring Term 2020 This half term started with the topic 'Up in the Air' which quickly lead on to learning all things Space based on the children's enthusiastic interest. After watching the school's 'security camera' , we discovered a UFO landed in our playground leaving us with a family on aliens to look after. The children have been caring for these by writing lots of cards, instructions, drawing maps and making houses for them to live in. We have been learning all about the Solar system, ask us if we can tell you something that we've learnt about Space! The next half term we are looking forward to finding out more about 'Pirates and Mermaids'.
Autumn Term 2019 The children have settled in beautifully into Bluebells, quickly learning the new routine and have spent lots of time exploring their new classroom, both inside and out. Our first topic was 'This is Me' where children had the opportunity to talk about themselves, look at their baby photos, create family trees and find out more about their peers by taking part circle games and questioning. During the second half term, we explored the topic 'Let's Celebrate', we learned about different festivals and celebrations, including Bonfire Night, Diwali and Christmas. The children took part in a Christmas performance with the Poppies called 'Davey the Donkey' and they put on a brilliant show. We were so proud of how confident the children were on stage, singing and dancing. We were also lucky enough to invite Grandparents in for a craft afternoon.
