Keeping safe:
This is obviously our number one priority and a lot of time and thought has gone in to making our plans robust and safe. The Senior Leadership Team has drawn up a very detailed risk assessment which has been shared with all staff. Our plans mitigate the risks posed to schools in particular, taking in to account things like: allocated time in the school day for extra hand washing, the layout of the classrooms, use of the communal areas, staggered start and finish times, staggered break and lunch times. We will constantly be reviewing our practice to ensure that we are providing your child with the right education in the safest of environments.
Attendance:
School attendance is mandatory from the beginning of the autumn term. Where a pupil is unable to attend school because they are complying with clinical or public health advice, relevant documentation will need to be shared with us. Please contact the office if you wish to speak to somebody about this.
Drop off:
Each year group has their own designated time for arriving at school.
Reception: 9:00 Year 1: 8:50 Year 2: 8:30 Year 3: 9:00 Year 4: 8:40 Year 5: 8:50 Year 6: 8:30
We have designed a one-way system to help avoid any congestion on the school site.

We have designed a one-way system to help avoid any congestion on the school site.

Having dropped your child off, it is important that parents leave the school site promptly and do not congregate as there is a risk of you blocking the entrances and exits. School staff will assist the children in getting safely to their waiting area where they will be collected by their class teacher. Parents of children in Reception can wait with their child in the waiting area.
Pick up:
We have staggered the pick up times to avoid congestion. Parents of children in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 are to wait on the sloped path leading from the main pedestrian gate. Parents of children in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 are to wait in the one-way system leading from the car park gate. Your child's teacher will bring the children out to you at the following times:
Reception: 3:10 Year 1: 3:20 Year 2: 3:00 Year 3: 3:30 Year 4: 3:20 Year 5: 3:35 Year 6: 3:10
Please ensure you leave the school site promptly once you have collected your child. You will not be able to meet and talk with the class teachers at this time. You will not be allowed to congregate with other parents on the field or the paths surrounding the school.
If your child is walking home by themselves after school, please make sure that you have informed us of this. We would also like you to speak to your child so that they know that it's important to walk straight home.

What will my child be learning?
We aim to be teaching the children a broad and rich curriculum. This means that we will be teaching all subjects that the children would normally be taught. All classes will also spend time addressing any gaps brought about by the school closures last year and during the first part of the spring term.
Equipment:
We want to try and limit the number of items travelling to and from school. In addition to any packed lunches, your child only needs to bring a water bottle and their PE kits. We will provide any stationary that your child will need for their lessons.
Any resources which are shared between classes, such as PE equipment or musical instruments, will be cleaned before the next class uses them in their lesson.

Uniform:
All children need to be in full uniform including the correct footwear and PE kit. Please click on the following link to find out how to order new items from our supplier: Uniform
PE Kit:
Your child will need to come to school wearing their PE kit on the correct day. As the weather turns colder they can wear their school jumper or cardigan on top of their PE kit, as well as tracksuit trousers.
PE days:
Monday: Year 2
Tuesday: Year 3
Wednesday: Year 4
Thursday: Year 5 (pm)
Friday: Reception (am), Year 1 (am), Year 6 (pm)

Hand washing:
We have installed several hand sanitiser stations around the school in addition to timetabling opportunities for regular hand washing throughout the school day. Please help us to encourage your children to wash their hands thoroughly and to keep themselves clean. We will also be promoting good hygiene around the use of tissues for sneezes and coughs.
Homework and reading books:
All homework tasks will be set using our online learning platform, Seesaw. Your child's login details should be the same as they were during lockdown. Any new children will be provided with their login details by their class teacher.
We will be sending reading books home. The children will bring a book home on Monday and keep it until Friday. The books will then all stay in school over the weekend ready for the children to choose again the following Monday.
Please note that in the event of school closure or your child's bubble having to isolate, their home learning will be set using Seesaw. It is really important that you know your child's login to be able to access any work set for them.

Behaviour:
Positive learning behaviours are crucial to successful learning and we will continue to encourage this at all times. Our behaviour management system will remain the same with the children rewarded with points towards their merit certificate for displaying good behaviour during the day. Negative behaviour will continue to be addressed using the verbal warning and card system. We have also amended our Behaviour Policy to reference the sanctions for children who deliberately cough or spit at others. As always, we will continue to work with you to model the behaviours that we expect in school.
