Bluebell Class is the Foundation Stage Class at Halton Community Combined School. We enjoy creating a vibrant and stimulating environment where children are nurtured and listened to. The children are actively involved and encouraged to develop their own learning in both the indoor and outdoor classroom areas.
Staff strive to promote strong links with parents to inform them about topics children will be engaged in and to help them to understand the aims of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. The curriculum is based on three prime areas of learning: Communication & Language, Personal & Social and Physical Development. There are a further four specific areas of learning: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design. The characteristics of effective learning are crucial to the children's development - Playing and Exploring, Active Learning and Creating & Thinking Critically. Partnership with parents is very important to us and enhances the children’s learning; parents and grandparents are regularly welcomed in to class to support activities or to share special talents and interests.
Our aim is for every child to be happy, confident and independent; embracing new challenges within a supportive and caring environment.
